Got Game? Get GTM #212!

Greetings dear readers!

Autumn is here and thoughts around the ol’ GTM Bullpen inevitably turn to mulled cider, crisp weather, and, of course, Halloween!

I’ll confess I’ve always had a soft spot for Halloween; I’ve many cherished memories of Trick-or-Treating until the wee hours of the night with friends and family.  As we grew older, we’d decorate the house with all manner of spooky accoutrements - from fog machines to colored disco lights, giant-inflatable spiders to motion-activated treat bowls, you name it!  Halloween became less about going out for treats and more about giving out treats and having some good spooky fun at the same time!

And in that same vein, we’ve got some treats for you this issue!

There is, of course, the Mr. Freeze promo card for the Batman - The Animated Series Dice Game from Steve Jackson Games, but be sure to also check out the stunning gatefold from Wyrd Games! I can’t think of anything more in spirit with Halloween than visiting The Other Side or trying to avoid the icy attack of a mad scientist!

That’s not all – if you’re looking to add some new goodies to your next RPG session, be sure to check out Jon Leitheusser’s Tricks of the Game Trade in this issue for some new treats! In this issue, Jon touches on Xanathar’s Guide to Everything for D&D 5e, Forbidden Arcana for Shadowrun 5e, and the Potions and Poisons sourcebook from the Pathfinder RPG.  Talk about a full bag!

Speaking of RPGs, be sure to check out the AWESOME preview pages in this issue from Paizo’s Starfinder Alien Archive! We are happy to play host to enigmatic Contemplatives and sinister Drow!

We also hear from Studio Woe and get some great background about their tactical combat card game featuring mutated goats, Gruff! Utilize dark magics and questionable science and weaponize your herd of battle-goats!

All that and more folks.  Like I said, this issue is packed with treats for gamers from all walks and interests.

Enjoy, and game on everyone,

-JG
